Robert Schedler

Robert Schedler (born November 6, 1866 in Altstätten ; † August 8, 1930 in Zurich ) was a Swiss writer .

Life

Schedler studied Reformed theology at the Universities of Basel and Jena . He was pastor in Sax-Frümsen , Wildhaus , Grenchen and Langenthal . He became known as the author of Der Schmied von Göschenen . The historical novel, which tells of the conquering of the Schöllenen Gorge , has become a classic of youth literature and was printed in eleven editions by 1971.
