Roberta's Sutkus

Robertas Sutkus (* 26. January 1953 in Ziliai , Lithuanian SSR , † 2008 ) was a Lithuanian Grand Master in correspondence chess and ICCF- chess referee . Sutkus lived in Vilnius and was an economist by profession.

successes

Sutkus received the title International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster in 1993 due to the following results:

  • 1979/81: 5th team championship of Lithuania, 1st place with team "Viesulas" (7 out of 9)
  • 1981/83: 6th team championship of Lithuania, 4th place with team "Viesulas" (8 out of 10)
  • 1982/84: Lithuanian Cup "Komjaunimo tiesa", 1st place (12 out of 14)
  • 1984/87: 5th ICCF Cup semi-finals, 1st place (10 out of 10)
  • 1988/93: Anniversary tournament "100 Years of Correspondence Chess in Lithuania", 3rd place (11 out of 16)

Further participation in international competitions:

  • 1987/94: 5th ICCF Cup, Final B, 6th place (6.5 out of 11) (+6 = 1 −4)
  • 2004: Participation in the final of the 13th Correspondence Chess Olympiad

In the ICCF rankings, Sutkus' last Elo rating was 2398.

His brother Vytautas Sutkus is also a correspondence chess player and holds the title of International Correspondence Chess Master.
