Roberto Marcelo Levingston

Roberto Marcelo Levingston Laborda (born January 19, 1920 in San Luis , Argentina , † June 17, 2015 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine military officer and de facto President of the Republic of Argentina from June 18, 1970 to March 22, 1971 .

After the popular uprisings in 1969 weakened the military junta , in June 1970 President Juan Carlos Onganía was deposed by Alejandro Agustín Lanusse , who was head of the armed forces at the time. Lanusse appointed General Levingston as the new president.

After renewed uprisings, Levingston was replaced by Alejandro Agustín Lanusse himself at the end of March 1971 after only six months.
