Roberto Regazzi (born August 20, 1956 in Bologna ) is an Italian violin maker . He continues the tradition of the Bolognese violin maker.

Life

Roberto Regazzi began building musical instruments with passion at the age of 14. In the mid-1970s, under the direction of Alan Wilcox and Renato Scrollavezza, he concentrated mainly on the construction of classical guitars. By the end of the 1980s, many classical concert guitars were made by his hand. Including some masterpieces made of rosewood.

When the opportunity arose to be tutored by Otello Bignami as a private student, he finished his physics studies at the University of Bologna in order to devote himself entirely to his training as a violin maker. During his apprenticeship he founded his company in 1979.

Today he has established himself as a renowned violin maker and has been elected President of numerous organizations and associations a number of times, including the European Association of Violin and Bow Makers.

He is known worldwide for the quality of his instruments, which are an excellent example of the true Italian sound.

His work is shaped by Ansaldo Poggi, Otello Bignami and Augusto Pollastri - the Bolognese school. Inspired by Guarneri del Gesù , he started production just before the turn of the millennium, with the realization of a rich, full sound and charm.

In 2006, the Bologna Chamber of Commerce awarded Roberto Regazzi a special honorary award for the prestige that he brought to his hometown through his many years of successful activity.
