Robinson is a small impact crater in the northwest of the front of the moon southwest of the whale plain of J. Herschel on the northern edge of Mare Frigoris . To the east is the small Horrebow crater . The crater rim is only slightly eroded.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Irish astronomer Thomas Romney Robinson .
