Rodney Leach, Baron Leach of Fairford

(Charles Guy) Rodney Leach, Baron Leach of Fairford (born June 1, 1934 in Dublin , Ireland - † June 12, 2016 ) was a British Conservative Party politician , Life Peer in the British House of Lords and former Vice Chairman of Jardine Lloyd Thompson . He worked as chairman of the think tank Open Europe , which aims to provide critical support to EU policy, and was a board member of Rothschild Continuation AG and various listed Jardine Matheson group companies. He was also a well-known climate skeptic .

life and career

Leach's parents were Charles Harold Leach and Nora Eunice Ashworth. He attended Harrow School in Middlesex before going to Balliol College .

Baron Leach chaired the NOtoAV campaign which called for the rejection of the instant runoff voting process in the 2011 UK suffrage referendum .

Leach married twice. His first marriage to Felicity Ballantyne from 1963 to 1989. Since 1993 he was married to Jessica Violet Gwynne. She became Lady Leach of Fairford when her husband was raised to the nobility in 2006.
