Rodolfo Parker

Rodolfo Antonio Parker Soto (born November 1, 1957 in San Salvador ) is general secretary of the Partido Demócrata Cristiano in El Salvador .

Career

Parker is a lawyer, notary, and MP for the Department of San Salvador in Parliament as its vice-president. Parker is married to the German citizen Cristina Wein Niemann, has two daughters and a son Andres Rodolfo Parker Wein (* 1982). His primary school was the Colegio Externado de San José and he graduated from high school in 1975 at the Liceo Salvadoreño . He studied law and social sciences at the Universidad de El Salvador and graduated from the Universidad "Dr. José Matías Delgado" . In 1985 he completed a postgraduate degree in international law at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica . From 1975 to 1979 he gained professional experience at the Juzgado de Primera Instancia , a court in San Salvador as a staff member and secretary. He has had a law firm since 1985. From 1981 to 1989 he was Assessor of the General Staff of FAES .

After the UCA massacre , Parker, as a civilian, was a member of the Comisión Especial de Honor , an honorary commission that was supposed to investigate the involvement of the army in the murders. The Comisión de la Verdad para El Salvador found that Parker had altered testimony given to the Comisión Especial de Honor to cover up the accountability of senior officers. He deleted references to Major Carlos Camilo Hernández Barahona, among others.

He was a member of the government's negotiating delegation in the peace negotiations. Member of the government team to monitor the implementation of the peace agreements and from September 1992 to May 1994 coordinator of the Unidad de Ejecución de los Acuerdos de Paz . He lectured at the Universidad "Dr. José Matías Delgado Contract Law . In 1999 he was legal advisor to several companies and presidential candidate of the Partido Demócrata Cristiano .
