Rodolfo Torre Cantú

Rodolfo Torre Cantú (born February 14, 1964 in Ciudad Victoria , † June 28, 2010 ibid) was a Mexican politician of the PRI . He fell victim to an assassination attempt.

Torre ran for gubernatorial election in Tamaulipas . He and four other victims were shot dead with automatic weapons on a country road about 800 kilometers north of Mexico City . The Mexican President Felipe Calderón took the incident as an opportunity to convene his security cabinet. He then ran a national television message to accuse organized crime of having committed the murder.
