Rodrigo Rubio
Rodrigo Rubio Puertas (born March 13, 1931 in Montalvos , Albacete province , Spain , † April 4, 2007 in Madrid ) was a Spanish writer .
life and work
Rodrigo Rubio published around 40 works and received numerous literary awards. In 1965 Rubio was awarded the prestigious Premio Planeta literary prize for his novel Equipaje de amor para la tierra . The book was translated into German and was published under the title Baggage of Love . He also translated works from German, Bulgarian and Czech into Spanish. Rubio found literature through his serious illness. Because of progressive rheumatic paralysis, he was confined to bed for years. However, he used this time to read: "I stopped thinking only about my own fate and became interested in my fellow men".
The writer was married to Rosa Romá .
Rodrigo Rubio died on April 4, 2007 at the age of 76 of complications from pneumonia.
