Mazars is an international auditing , legal , tax and management consultancy based in Brussels .
The company operates in 89 countries and territories around the world in 2019 and draws on the expertise of 40,000 professionals. Of these, 24,000 work in the integrated partnership with Mazars and 16,000 in the Mazars North America Alliance.
Mazars is managed by a nine-member board of directors, which is monitored by a 15-member board of directors.
As a voluntary commitment to transparency, Mazars has been the only international auditing and tax consultancy company to have been preparing global consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS since 2008. Since 2014 Mazars has published its annual report in the form of integrated reporting in accordance with the rules of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

Mazars
The original company Mazars was founded in 1940 in Rouen ( Normandy in France ) by Robert Mazars († 2015). Mazars remained a local company until the 1980s. The new board member Patrick de Cambourg then began to expand the company into a global company by growing from 33 employees in 1977.
France
Mazars merged with the auditing company Guérard Viala in 1995 to form Mazars & Guérard .
Germany
The tax consulting practice Brönner was founded in Berlin in 1919. The auditing profession did not yet exist at that time. As a reaction to the global economic crisis , the compulsory examination was introduced in 1931 by an emergency ordinance as part of the amendment to stock corporation law and this profession was created. In November 1931 Herbert Brönner became the 13th auditor in Germany at all. From these beginnings, the Dres. Brönner Treuhand-Revision GmbH and the Brönner Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft developed over time , which as the Brönner Group offered interdisciplinary auditing and tax advice as well as legal advice as well as financial, asset and payroll accounting.
The origins of the Röver Group go back to the beginning of 1945, when Maria Röver, who was admitted as a foreign exchange advisor in 1937 and as a tax advisor in 1943, started the practice of Dr. Röver und Partner founded. After starting out in war-torn Berlin in a villa in Berlin-Schlachtensee, this company grew to become Dr. Röver & Partner KG (auditing and tax consulting company) .
In 1952 Werner Susat became a partner in the Hamburg law firm Koob van der Laan , which originated in 1935 and which was renamed Koob van der Laan Susat . In 1974 the firm was renamed Susat & Partner OHG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft .
In 1975 the French auditing and consulting company Mazars opened an office in Germany. In 2006 Mazars merged in Germany with Haarmann Hemmelrath , a German law firm with a global presence.
In 2007 Röver and Brönner finally merged to form the Röver Brönner Group . In 2011 the merger with Susat & Partner was announced, which resulted in RBS RoeverBroennerSusat in 2012 . In 2013 a branch was opened in Nuremberg. In 2014 the merger with Haag Eckhard Schoenpflug from Frankfurt am Main took place.
In June 2015 Mazars Germany and Roever Broenner Susat (previously number ten on the German market) merged to become Roever Broenner Susat Mazars .
In 2016, the Hamburg auditing and tax consulting company Dr. Steinberg & Partner to the company.
Mazars employs around 1,500 people in Germany in 2019 with 90 partners, including around 381 professionals ( auditors , tax consultants and lawyers ) in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Greifswald, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg, Potsdam and Stuttgart. The turnover (2018/2019) amounts to 158 million euros.
Great Britain
In 2013 Mazars employed around 1200 people at 20 locations in Great Britain with a turnover of over 130 million euros.
United States
In 2010, Mazars merged with the American auditing and consulting firm Weiser LLP from New York in the USA . Mazars also took over Weiser, one of the largest companies in the north-east of the USA, as part of its international partnership. Weiser Mazars has 650 professionals and sales of 110 million euros (137 million US dollars). Mazars and Weiser had already worked together in a joint venture for ten years. In 2019, Mazars establishes the Mazars North America Alliance. Mazars is thus expanding its presence in North America by more than 16,000 specialists.
