Roger David Nussbaum (born January 29, 1944 in Philadelphia ) is an American mathematician who deals with nonlinear functional analysis and differential equations.

Nussbaum studied at Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in 1965 and received his doctorate in 1969 under Felix Browder at the University of Chicago ( The Fixed Point Index and Fixed Point Theorems for K-Set Contractions ). He has been Assistant Professor since 1969, Associate Professor since 1973 and Professor at Rutgers University since 1977 . He is a fellow of the American Mathematical Society .
