Roger Helmer

Roger Helmer (born January 25, 1944 in London ) is a British politician of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).

Life

Helmer studied mathematics at Churchill College of the University of Cambridge . He was a member of the Conservative Party until March 2012 and switched to the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) in early March 2012 . Helmer has been a member of the European Parliament for the Conservative Party since 1999 and is now a member of the European Parliament for UKIP. As a eurosceptic, Helmer wrote three books.

Helmer is a member of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy Group in the EU Parliament .

He is a member of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee , the Committee on Petitions and the Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula. As a deputy, Helmer is in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and in the delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
