Life

Rössing studied photography from 1948 to 1951 with Johannes Widmann at the Leipzig School of Graphics and Book Art . He and his wife Renate Rössing belonged to the Leipzig group “action fotografie” in the 1950s. Both published about 90 books.

Rössing has also been active as a publicist and author, and not only in photographic literature. In the couple's last book, which was published in April 2006, both recorded their observations in their hometown of Leipzig over five decades.
