history

In 1850 a forge was founded in Straubing. Forge master Adalbert Rohr senior built the first agricultural trailer in 1945, and in 1962 the first tanker was produced. The product range was expanded in 1972 to include insulated box vehicles and since the partial takeover of the airfield tanker manufacturer Kroll in 1995, Rohr also manufactured airfield tankers. Military tank trucks have also been produced for the German armed forces since 2006 .

It is a manufacturer of temperature-controlled box vehicles for the German food retail groups, of tank vehicles for the distribution of mineral oil and heating oil, and a supplier to the Bundeswehr for military tank vehicles. This includes the heavy 8x8 road tanker (FSA) . With the partial takeover of the Hamburg-based aircraft tanker truck manufacturer Kroll in 1995, Rohr was able to expand the company further.

Rohr specializes in the development and manufacture of refrigerated box and tank vehicles, but also manufactures special vehicles in the field of agricultural transports and live animal transports.

The pipe Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH has filed for insolvency in early April 2016th In the course of this, it was taken over by the Austrian Kässbohrer Transport Technik and renamed Rohr Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH .
