Pipeline isometry

The pipeline isometry is a technical drawing in the form of an isometric representation for the planning and construction of pipelines in large plants such as steam power plants , refineries and production facilities in the chemical industry .

The pipeline isometry shows the pipeline to be built in all its details and all dimensions in length, width and height, with the main axes of these three dimensions intersecting at an angle of 60 °. In addition, the three dimensions are given the same scale, which is why this display method is very easy to carry out and still gives a good idea of the three-dimensional course of the pipeline.

By displaying the individual pipeline, all dimensions can be made in the pipeline isometry and all individual parts can be positioned for the parts list . However, it is not suitable for checking whether the laying of the pipeline in the manner shown is at all possible. This check is carried out in the pipeline plan.
