Pipe clamp

Pipe clamps are brackets for pipelines on the building structure , load-bearing structures or machines.

In the Swiss-speaking area, the term "bride" is also used for larger pipe and mast clamps. Clamps are used for tight pipe connections and have nothing to do with pipe supports.

There are a variety of designs. One differentiates z. B. in the field of TGA (technical building equipment) one-piece and two-piece pipe clamps. These can be made of steel (e.g. S235JR), stainless steel or plastic . The type of material usually depends on the material of the pipeline . Steel pipe clamps are available in soundproofed and non-insulated versions. The sound insulation , which is used to decouple structure-borne noise , is in most cases made of rubber (e.g. ethylene-propylene-diene-rubber / styrene-butadiene rubber ).

Pipe clamps made of pressed sheet steel usually have connecting threads (welded-on nuts ) on the lower part , via which they are attached by means of a threaded pin or rod. Common sizes are M 8, M10 and M12, and such a nut often has two thread sizes. A hooking hinge on one side makes it possible to use a clamping screw on the opposite side. To facilitate assembly, this can be designed to be captive, slide into a slot in the upper part of the clamp and snap into a recess at the end of the slot.

Hydraulic lines on machines are often screwed into block clamp pairs in accordance with DIN 3015 made of aluminum, plastic (polypropylene or polyamide) or encapsulated elastomer. 2 screws pull in or stacked several pairs of blocks on a base plate, which can slip in a slide before tightening. Blocks with a certain screw spacing are available for different pipe diameters within a certain range.

Sometimes double (or multiple) pipe clamps are used to bundle flying lines.

Pipe snap clips (clamps) made of plastic only enclose a pipe around a little more than 180 ° of the circumference and are mainly used for the assembly of electrical cables in protective pipes, light water pipes made of plastic or plastic-aluminum composite. You will e.g. B. made of polyamide .

Sewage pipes and also rainwater downpipes in the family house area are often fastened with light plastic clips that can be closed with a screw or a snap-on cover.

Traditional pipe clamps for rainwater downpipes consist of two halves connected by a hinge, usually made of galvanized sheet metal. A coarse square nail is riveted into the middle of the rear one, which is hammered into masonry or wood. An eyebolt with an M8 thread that is easy to use without tools, screws the front to the rear bracket, which has an internal thread.
