history

Schloßstraße: Second house from the right, number 10, behind the castle

The three-storey so-called Rococo house from 1765 with its volute gable was built as a half-timbered house, presumably according to plans by court architect Johann Joachim Busch . The city church Ludwigslust (1770) and Ludwigslust Palace (1776) also come from him .

In 1975/77 the house had to be completely demolished. The new building was reconstructed while retaining the richly decorated, Baroque-style gable facade with multi-colored ornamentation.

The building, which was last renovated in 2006/13, housed the central police station as well as apartments, boarding houses and offices on the ground floor from 1979 to 2002 and since 2014.
