Rokujō

Emperor Rokujō ( Japanese 六条 天皇 , Rokujō-tennō ; * December 28, 1164 ; † August 23, 1176 ) was the 79th Tennō of Japan (September 5, 1165– March 30, 1168) and a son of the emperor Nijō .

Even before his first birthday, he ascended the throne of his father, on which he sat for two and a half years. Subsequently, his older brother Takakura became emperor. Rokujō died at the age of 13. During his tenure, politics was determined by his grandfather, the ex-emperor Go-Shirakawa , and the politician Taira no Kiyomori ( Insi system).
