Roland Boekhout (born July 30, 1963 in South Africa ) is a Dutch manager. From 2010 to 2017 he was CEO of ING-DiBa and then worked in the management of the ING Groep . Boekhout has been Head of Corporate Banking at Commerzbank since the beginning of January 2020 .

Life

Boekhout studied business administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and completed the general management program CEDEP at INSEAD in Fontainebleau . After his first job at Unilever in the Netherlands from 1988 to 1991, Boekhout moved to the ING Groep .

He started out as a credit analyst at ING Bank . Two years later he moved to ING Capital Holdings in New York , where he rose to Vice-President. In 1997 he joined ING Barings in Warsaw as Director of Corporate Banking , where he was appointed to the Executive Committee in 1999. From 2000 to 2004 Boekhout was CFO and Chief Strategy Officer at the insurance division and then a member of the Executive Board of ING Commercial America Mexico.

From 2004 Roland Boekhout was General Manager of ING Retail / Sales in the Netherlands and was named CEO of RVS Insurance in 2007 . From 2008 he was CEO of ING Commercial Banking Central and Eastern Europe, responsible for eleven countries.

Boekhout has headed Commerzbank's corporate banking business since January 1, 2020.

Private

Boekhout has four children.
