Roland Casper (born January 2, 1966 in Cologne ), also known under the names Integrated Circuits , Dan Eben and Trollin Dwarf , is a German musician , DJ and label owner . His music style is somewhere between acid house and acid techno . He has also played in various bands.

Career

Roland Casper collected his first musical impressions in 1986 in the Cologne club Coconut . The genre of music called Acid House that emerged that year inspired and shaped the then 20-year-old. Two years later, at the beginning of 1988, he got in touch with the operators of what was then the internationally known rave club in Cologne. Roland Casper's DJ career began there, but the club closed again in November 1989. In 1990, the Space Club opened in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne, where Casper became a resident DJ . In 1992 he moved, also as a resident, to the Cologne warehouse , one of the most famous clubs in Germany in the 1990s. In this location he stood at the turntables with the most famous DJs of the scene and achieved international fame through the club. In the same year, Roland Casper released the first single in collaboration with Armin Lamers and Nikolai Kaeßmann under the pseudonym Exeter . This is called "Feel The Speed" and was released on the Spacemate Recordings label . Since 1992 Casper began to work again with the Cologne DJ and producer Claus Bachor , with whom he had already shared the residency at the Rave Club. At that time Bachor founded the still legendary party series Psycho Thrill , in which Casper became the second resident DJ. The parties took place since October 1991 in the Bonn Club Ballhaus (later "Slam Club"). He starts to build his studio and in 1993 the label Structure released the first single, called "The Warehouse EP" , under his own name. In the same year the first album came out which he released under the pseudonym Integrated Circuits . This was nameless and was released on the label Labworks Germany. In 1994 the warehouse in Cologne closed, but the parties in Bonn continued to take place with great success and have since developed into a cult event. In 1995 the Ballhaus also closed and the Psycho Thrill series was continued with great success at the 42 dp Club in Cologne . In the meantime, Roland Casper u. a. with world-famous musicians such as B. Dave Clarke or Ian Pooley worked together. After Casper continued to release several singles as Integrated Circuits, the second album was released under his name in 1995. This was called "Ghost Trax" and was also released on Labworks Germany. As Dan Eben, he also releases records on CommuniquÈ and Head In The Clouds and under the alias Trollin 'Dwarf on Jakpot . In 1996 Roland Casper founded the Essence label . In addition to his own publications, he wanted to offer a forum for new artists from the German techno house and acid underground. During the first year the label released thirteen vinyl singles and the "Psycho-Thrill" compilation, which was highly acclaimed by the press . In 1998 Roland Casper started working with the Berlin label Frisbee Tracks . He worked closely with him for a long time. The first single was called "D.One" . Casper has now been booked as a DJ worldwide. He performed quite often in Chicago and Detroit. In order to concentrate more on his DJ career he stopped the activities for Essence. At the end of 1998 he took part in the worldwide Frisbee Label Tour . In 2001 the first album appeared under his own name with the title "To The Naked Eye" on Edel Records. After the publication, Casper went on a tour through Europe, which again generated media attention. In 2009 the musician's last single was released for the time being. But he is still an internationally booked DJ and active music producer and continues to be present at "Psycho Thrill" at irregular intervals.
