Claus Bachor (* 1959 ) is a German DJ , musician , label owner and music journalist who is considered a pioneer of the German techno scene .

Life

Claus Bachor studied history, geography and Latin before and during his career as a DJ, promoter and music journalist. After his state examination, he worked for two years as a trainee / editor at the Deutsche Verkehrsverlag HH / editorial department Griephan Briefe (Pressehaus 1 Deutscher Bundestag, Bonn).

He started his DJ career as a soul and funk DJ in 1976. From 1982 he was a founding member of the Wildstyle sound system and operated in Bonn a . a. In the Theater der Springmaus from 1984-88 with the Dash Club, his own program club for disco, electro, HNRG and early (proto-) house sound. As a music journalist, he wrote his first texts and reports as well as a regular column for house, acid and hip house for the magazine Network Press , and after its name change to CUT magazine became its chief editor. From 1988 he played with Roland Casper in the Cologne Rave Club . It followed u. a. further Cologne club stations such as "Elevator" (Die Halle / Tor2), 42dp, Artheater, Sensor Club and since appearances in clubs such as the Berlin UFO . In 1990 he joined B. together with Roland Casper in addition to Jonzon , Dr. Motte , Tanith and Rok at the official after party of the first Berlin Love Parade in the UFO.

From October 1991 he ran the Wednesday club Psycho Thrill in Bonn's Ballhaus , which he sees as a direct alternative to the commercial techno scene with a strict underground concept. Guest DJs were u. a. Jeff Mills , members of the Underground Resistance DJ Assault Squad like Suburban Knight , DJ Skurge and Mark Flash or Chicago sound protagonists like Felix da Housecat . In 1999 Bachor also founded his record label Psycho Thrill Recordings , which later became the sub -labels Authentic Music , Degu Technique Recordings and Sky's Ablaze Records . From the mid-1990s on, the first own publications came under his own name as well as B. under the project name RBR , which was created together with Marco Repetto and Stefan Riesen. As a result, he continued to work as editor-in-chief of CUT magazine , as an author for magazines such as Raveline , Beam Me Up and publisher of the trend magazine d2000 (1996-2003). In addition, Bachor had their own program on Technoradio Evosonic with Housemeister and on Internet radio Cosmium Radio with SpyInTheHouse . a. it is continued on the Cologne web radio 674FM and on the website of the same name.
