DJ Rok

DJ Rok (born: Jürgen Rokitta * 1963 ) is a German techno - DJ and - musicians .

Rokitta, who comes from Bavaria , gained his first experience as a DJ during his school days. In the mid-1980s he moved to Berlin, where he was active in the Berlin techno scene as a DJ from 1989 , initially under the name Rokki . Among other things, he played as a resident DJ in Berlin's first acid house club, the UFO . In the early 1990s, Rok worked for the Berlin scene record store Hard Wax .

Since 1991, Rok has been one of the first resident DJs of the newly opened Tresor club, alongside Tanith and Jonzon . This was followed by national appearances, including at Mayday .

With Peter Votava , Rok produced an EP under the project name Steel in 1994 on the Austrian label Loop Records. From 1996 onwards he also made his own records on labels such as International Deejay Gigolo Records , Müller Records and Tresor . In 2002 Rok founded the Defender Records label .

After having suspended his activity as a DJ for several years, he performed at the Suicide Circus in Berlin at Easter 2013 and at Berghain in September 2019
