Claude Young

Claude Young (* in Detroit ) is an American techno - DJ and techno producer.

He is known among his fans for his mixing style, which includes scratches , juggles and cuts . In addition to worldwide appearances as a DJ, he has released records on labels such as Djax-Up-Beats , 7th City and under several pseudonyms (including Brother From Another Planet, De-Yang Crew, Dub Street Posse, Low Key and Project 625) as a producer Axis. As a remixer , he provided reworking of tracks by the artists Kelli Hand , Inner City , Scanner , Sensorama , Slam , Joey Beltram , Sven Väth , Christian Morgenstern , John Tejada , Joris Voorn and many more.

Life

Claude Young first came into contact with music through his father Claude Young sr., Who was the presenter, radio DJ and co-founder of the Detroit radio station WJLB (Detroit). Claude Young established himself in the young Detroit techno scene by working as a radio and club DJ. He moved further into the field of techno and began producing tracks himself after having worked on productions by Kevin Saunderson . His musical teacher and mentor was Antony "Shake" Shakir with whom he founded the label Frictional .

At the turn of the year 2004/2005, Young moved to Japan. Together with his wife Yukiko he runs the media agency CYNet Media. Together with the Japanese Takasi Nakajima , he founded the DJ duo Different World . In addition to regular appearances in Japan, both also appeared at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF). Their first record together, Rapture , was released in 2011 on Kirk Degiorgio's label ART Records .
