Suburban Knight
James Pennington aka Suburban Knight (* 1965 ) is an Afro-American techno producer and DJ from Detroit .
In 1987 he became known for his release on the Transmat Records label . Label owner Derrick May signed Pennington. Five years after the so-called Belleville Three Juan Atkins , Kevin Saunderson , Derrick May Pennington graduated from Belleville High School in 1982. He is co-writer of the Inner City hits Big Fun and Good Life . In addition, another milestone was released on Transmat Records with his techno track The Art of Stalking .
With the so-called "Second Wave" of techno musicians from Detroit in the early 1990s, Pennington became a mentor to the underground resistance head Mike Banks . His singles Nocturbulous Behavior and Dark Energy appeared on UR . He also worked on some tracks on Underground Resistance's Interstellar Fugitives album .
He published tech-hieroglyphics on his own label Dark Print , where he also supports European artists such as GiGi Galaxy , The Sense , Locutus , DJ Tao , Punisher and Twonz .
