Roland Folz

Roland Folz (born February 15, 1964 in Neu-Ulm ) is a German manager .

Professional background

Roland Folz studied business mathematics at the University of Ulm. He then went to Chicago to the University of Illinois to obtain an MBA there (focus: finance, strategic planning and international economics). From 1990 to 1994 Folz worked for Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechselbank AG in Munich, where he was, among other things, the internal project manager for the establishment of the Direkt Anlage Bank. During this time he did his doctorate in the field of financial marketing with the thesis "Marketing of investment products in the middle segment of private bank customers". From 1994 to 1997 Folz was Deputy Director (Strategic Planning and Business Development) at Hypo Foreign & Colonial Management Ltd. in London. He then worked for four years - among other things as a member of the Management Board - at Direkt Anlage Bank AG in Munich.

From 2002 to 2005, as Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler Bank AG in Stuttgart , Folz was responsible for the development from a leasing and financing specialist to a universal bank .

From 2005 to May 2009, Folz worked at Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn as a member of the T-Com / T-Home division board. Initially, he was responsible for the Quality and Processes department. With the new CEO René Obermann and the associated realignment (outsourcing of the customer service, technical service and network production units to service companies), Folz became chairman of the technical service at Deutsche Telekom AG (DTTS GmbH) with 23,000 employees.

From June 1, 2009, Folz was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Private Business Clients (PBC) division of Deutsche Bank AG and a member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Bank Privat- und Business Customers AG .

Roland Folz resigned as a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank Private and Business Customers AG in 2014. Until his final resignation in 2016, he held other CFO roles within Deutsche Bank.

Roland Folz has been CEO of solarisBank AG since February 1, 2017.

In addition, he has held various supervisory board mandates for many years, currently at Nürnberger Beteiligungs-AG, Fürst Fugger Privatbank AG and Studio Babelsberg AG .
