The Fürst Fugger Privatbank Aktiengesellschaft is a bank in Augsburg , which specializes in advising high net worth individuals and institutions. The bank was founded in 1954 by Friedrich Carl Fürst Fugger-Babenhausen through the takeover of the Friedl & Dumler bank and is thus in the tradition of the Fugger family of merchants and bankers . However, there is no direct connection to the Fugger's banking and financial transactions.

The bank employs 141 people (as of December 31, 2018) and has total assets of EUR 485 million and an annual profit of EUR 4.6 million. The deposits amount to 384 million euros.

The subsidiary Augsburger Investment Services GmbH belongs to Fürst Fugger Privatbank Aktiengesellschaft.

The bank is connected to the cooperative data center of Fiducia & GAD IT AG . The bank is also a member of the deposit protection fund of the Federal Association of German Banks .

history

The history of Fürst Fugger Privatbank Aktiengesellschaft begins in 1954 with the takeover of the Friedl & Dumler bank by Friedrich Carl Fürst Fugger-Babenhausen under the new name "Fürst Fugger-Babenhausen Bank KG in the Fuggerhaus Augsburg", so that the Fugger-Babenhausen family now conduct their banking business could lead again through its own institution. From 1977 the bank was called "Fürst Fugger-Babenhausen Bank KG".

In 1992 Industriebank AG resigned as a limited partner after 20 years. However, their place was taken a few months later by the Nuremberg Insurance Group . During the years 1992/93, due to a restructuring, some branches of the private bank were handed over to local institutes and the focus of the bank shifted to the upscale private and corporate customer business. In 1994 the credit institute was finally renamed "Fürst Fugger Privatbank KG". In 1999 the Nuremberg insurance group became the main owner of Fürst Fugger Privatbank KG. In addition, there was another change in strategy this year, in the course of which the corporate customer business was sold.

In 2015, the corporate form was converted into a stock corporation.

Business areas

Fürst Fugger Privatbank Aktiengesellschaft pursues a two-pillar strategy with the Private Banking and Nürnberger divisions . The focus is on private asset management and advice, whereby the repertoire of the private bank also includes offers such as investments, securities, financing, old-age and risk provision products as well as the private family service.

Branches

The bank's head office is located in the Fugger houses on Maximilianstrasse in Augsburg, built by Jakob Fugger the Rich between 1512 and 1515 . In addition to the headquarters, there are branches in Cologne , Mannheim , Munich , Nuremberg and Stuttgart .
