Roland Hantzsche

Roland Hantzsche (born September 17, 1941 in Stuttgart ) is a German karateka , holder of the 9th Dan. From 1992 to 2012 he was President of the German Karate Association . In November 2012 he was appointed honorary president of the German Karate Association.

Life

In 1961 Roland Hantzsche started with karate in a judo club in Stuttgart. In 1963 he founded the Karate Club Nippon Stuttgart. In the 1960s he was a squad athlete in the national team of the DKU. Under his direction, the club won several German championship titles in the individual and team in the 1970s and 1980s. With Wolfgang Ziebart and Günter Mohr , two very successful fighters and former national coaches grew up with him in his KC Stuttgart. From 1974 to 1984 Hantzsche was also managing director of the Karate Union Baden-Württemberg (KUBW) and KUBW president until 1986. After the merger of DKB and DKU in 1986 to form DKV , he was President of the Karate Association Baden-Württemberg until 2006. From 1992 to 2012 he was President of the German Karate Association.

In 1973 he founded the Karate School Budokan Esslingen, which, as a leader and trainer, provides the European team cup, the German team runner-up, the individual European cup winner and three German individual masters in light contact.
