Roland Hertner (racing driver)

Roland Hertner (born October 16, 1959 in Weinsberg ) is a German racing driver and entrepreneur .

Motorsport career

In 1975/76 Hertner drove motocross and started karting in 1977 . In 1978/79 he took part in the German Renault R5 Turbo Cup. In 1998, after a professional break, he drove in a Ford touring car in the German Touring Car Challenge.

In 1999 he won the GTP Porsche Endurance Championship together with Rainer Noller. In 2000 and 2001 he drove in the German Touring Car Challenge. He competed for the Highspeed Racing team in the 2004 Mini Challenge Germany season (7th in the driver standings), the 2004 Alfa 147 Cup season (second in the driver’s standings) and the 2006 Mini-Challenge Germany season (15 . the drivers' standings).

In 2011 he started in the DMV TCC for Team Highspeed Racing in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup . In 2010 he drove in a Corvette Z06-R GT3 for Callaway Competition at the 2010 ADAC GT Masters .

Hertner drives for the Engstler Motorsport team . He took part in the ADAC Procar season 2009 and ADAC Procar season 2010 on a BMW 320si and was third in 2009 and in 2010 champion of the ADAC Procar series in Division 1. He also drove for Liqui in the 2013 European Touring Car Cup Moly Team Engstler in a BMW 320si E90 and took 9th place in the drivers' championship. In 2019 he started for Engstler Motorsport in the TCR Asia racing series and reached 9th place in the drivers' championship.

Professional career

From 1977 Hertner worked in his parents' company, which had twelve employees at the time. In 1985 he passed the master craftsman's examination in the flasher and plumber trade. In addition, he graduated as a certified technical business economist . He went into business for himself with his own building technology company. In 1992 he bought his parents' company from his father.

In 2017, the Hertner Group, of which he is the managing director and owner, had a turnover of 65 million euros and a total of 170 employees in two locations in Heilbronn as well as two German branches in Leipzig and Stuttgart and a foreign branch in Bulgaria.

Private

Hertner is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
