Roland Peters (basketball player)

Roland Peters is a former German national basketball player .

career

In 1969, Peters moved from the youth of MTV 1846 Gießen  to the men's team in the basketball league . In his first year in the "basketball upper house" he was runner-up with the Central Hesse team. At the same time he was also eligible to play in the youth and achieved the German championship title with the A-Juniors of the MTV.

In the summer of 1970 Peters was one of the regular members of the German junior national team at the European Championships in Athens, he was placed in seven tournament games and averaged 10.9 points per use, making him the second best German thrower. In 1972 Peters made his international debut in the German senior national team and was to wear the shirt of the German Basketball Federation until 1975 .

In 1975 and 1978 the strong, 1.87 meter tall winger won the German championship with Giessen, and in 1973 and 1979 there were also victories in the DBB Cup . He played in Giessen's Bundesliga team until 1981 while he was studying dentistry and then working as a dentist.
