Roland Resch (born December 8, 1984 ) is an Austrian motorcycle racer .

Life

In 2002 Resch started in a supermoto and won the Red Bull Cup with all nine races. In 2003 he won a run in the class up to 450 cm³ at the first start in the German Supermoto Championship  . In addition, at the end of the Austrian championship, after several victories in the 450 cm³ class, he finished sixth overall. After dominating the first training session in 2004, Resch seriously injured his knee. After a six month break and rehabilitation, he made his comeback for the last race and he won the final run of the Supermoto ÖM in the class up to 450 cm³.

In 2005 Roland Resch won a day's victory in the Supermoto ÖM in classes S1 (open) and S2 (450 cm³) and at the end of the season he finished third and eleven (S1 / S2). With a total of four race wins, Roland Resch won the Austrian state championship title in 2006 in the strongest supermoto racing class S2. He also started in the open S1 racing class, where he clinched two day victories and third place overall.

In 2007 he switched to road racing and competed in the European GSX-R Cup on a Suzuki GSX-R 750 . At the end of the season, Resch finished fourth in this racing series, which was part of the Superbike World Championship .

In the 2008 season, Roland Resch competed several times in road racing. After four out of six races, he won the state championship in the Superstock 1000 class in the last race of the Austrian championship . He also competed in the 24-hour Bol d'Or race on the Magny-Cours circuit in France , where he trained for the European GSX-R Cup . Roland Resch also won the European GSX-R Cup with two race wins in Donington Park ( Great Britain ) and the final in Magny-Cours in France and three other podium places .

In December 2008 Roland Resch signed with Swiss team TKR Suzuki Switzerland , for which he in the 2009 season in the Superbike World Championship on Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 took. However, the season was unsatisfactory for the Austrian. The team did not succeed in developing a competitive motorcycle and equipping the machine with electronic driving aids such as wheelie or traction control . They did not take part in the four overseas races due to a lack of material or money.

The 2010 season denied Roland Resch on a BMW S 1000 RR in the BMW -Kundenteam team riding car BMW in the Superbike World Championship. His teammate was Australian Andrew Pitt .

In 2011 he stood on his own feet after the SBK World Championship and competed in the Austrian motorcycle championship on a KTM and Kawasaki. Roland Resch celebrated 2 runner-up titles and married his wife Kristina in private in September.

In 2012 Roland Resch founded his private RRRR Suzuki racing team and started the IDM Superbike on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 L2 . For two years he was the best private driver, the best Suzuki driver and always in the top 8.

In 2014 he switched to BMW and contested the IOEM class Superbike 1000 and the Alpe Adria Championship with a BMW S 1000 RR - still as a private team. He celebrated another national title in the SBK 1000 and a runner-up title in the Alpe Adria.

Roland Resch also runs the RR RacingSchool for motorcyclists.
