Rolf Francke

Rolf Bernhard Francke (born September 18, 1940 in Solingen ) is a former German politician ( CDU ) and businessman.

Live and act

After attending school in Ossendorf near Warburg and Düsseldorf , Francke studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne . In 1967 he received his doctorate there with a dissertation on the topic of economic problems of power supply for the iron-making industry in the Ruhr . He then worked in the iron and steel industry and from 1971 in the shipbuilding industry. From 1980 to 1996 he was managing director of Noske-Käser GmbH, a Hamburg company that mainly acts as a ship supplier and at that time a subsidiary of Blohm + Voss . From November 1986 Francke represented the CDU as a member of the Hamburg Parliament ( 12th and 13th electoral terms ).
