Rolf Hinz (orthodontist)

Rolf Hinz (born January 1, 1928 in Berlin ) is a German orthodontist , entrepreneur, author and university professor.

Life

In 1945, Hinz completed his training as a dental technician. He then studied dentistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he graduated in 1953. Three years later, in 1956, he received his doctorate. med. dent and was recognized as a specialist in orthodontics in 1957.

In the same year Hinz set up as a dentist in Doberlug-Kirchhain (GDR) and in 1960 as an orthodontist in Herne (FRG). There he also founded the Dr. Hinz-KFO-Labor (1970), the Zahnärztlichen Fach-Verlag (1974) and a training center for dentists (1977). Since 1985 he has also been a lecturer at the University of Witten / Herdecke . Rolf Hinz completed his habilitation in the field of orthodontics in 1988 and was appointed professor and professor a year later. In 1999, he founded dentronic Multimedia, today dentronic Multimedia Marketing GmbH. In 2002 the Haranni Academie and Clinic opened, also in Herne. In 2009, Hinz was acting head of the orthodontic department at the University of Witten / Herdecke. His retirement took place in the same year. From 2009 to 2012 he was again acting head of the orthodontic department at the University of Witten / Herdecke.

Rolf Hinz has been married to Elisabeth Hinz since 1968. He has a son and two daughters.

Publications

Hinz has published numerous publications in specialist media (including BDK-Info, Chance Praxis, prophylaxe impuls, SomnoJournal, Zahnärztliche Mitteilungen) and specialist newspapers (including DZW Die ZahnarztWoche) on orthodontic early treatment, snoring and other sleep disorders in children and adolescents as well as in adults and for Orthodontic treatment of severely disabled children.
