Rolf Meyn (Americanist)

Rolf Meyn (born December 30, 1935 in Geesthacht ) is a German Americanist .

Life

From 1955 to 1960 he studied English, American, geography and education at the University of Hamburg and Temple University . After receiving his doctorate in 1968 as Dr. phil. in Hamburg and his habilitation in 1982 there he was professor of English philology from 1982 to 1996 with a special focus on the language and culture of North America. From 1995 to 2002 he was professor for North American literature and culture in Rostock .
