Rolf Nitz (born September 24, 1960 ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach.

Career

The striker Rolf Nitz played for SC Dynamo Berlin from 1980 to 1989 and won the GDR championship seven times with his team . For the national ice hockey team of the GDR , he completed 24 international matches in which he scored one goal. He took part with the GDR team in the 1985 A World Cup in Prague . After being out of a club for a year, Nitz joined the regional league team Herford EG in 1990 . With the challenge, he became champions of the Regionalliga West in 1991 and then rose with his team to the Oberliga Nord . In 1994 the club stopped playing due to bankruptcy . The Herford EC was founded as the successor club, for which Nitz ran for one more season.

Then Nitz took over the coaching office at Herford EC and rose in 2000 with the club in the Oberliga Nord. After only one year, the club had to withdraw to the regional league and Nitz remained coach of the Herford EC until 2003.
