Rolf Reiner Maria Borchard

Rolf Reiner Maria Borchard (* 1940 in Herford ) is a German photographer and architect .

Live and act

Borchard studied architecture in Hanover and graduated in 1970. He then became a lecturer. At the same time he had his first successes as a photographer. In 1976 photos of him were exhibited in Kiel and Hanover, later further exhibitions and book publications followed.

In 1987 Borchard was appointed professor of design principles in the industrial design department at the Muthesius Art College in Kiel . From 1996 to 1999 he was also rector there. In 2006 he resigned from teaching. As a professor, he was also responsible for photography and interdisciplinary projects.

From 2003 to 2010 he and the former Marburg geography professor Ekkehard Buchhofer published a six-volume series of illustrated books about the districts of Kiel.
