Romain Compingt

Romain Compingt (born April 9, 1984 in Lyon ) is a French scenario writer .

Life

As a child, Compingt was interested in writing and wanted to become a writer. He studied at the Conservatoire européen d'écriture audiovisuelle (CEEA), which he graduated from in 2004. He then went to Paris , worked as a literary assistant and wrote film scenarios. His first published work as a scriptwriter was the film Mademoiselle Populaire , which was released in French cinemas in 2012. Compingt also took on a small role as a bellhop in the film. This was followed by the short film Please Love Me Forever and Divines in 2016, directed by Houda Benyamina , with Compingt writing the script with Benyamina and Malik Rumeau . All three received a César nomination in the category Best Original Screenplay in 2017 . As a consultant, Compingt was also involved in films such as La marche , La fille de Brest and Bonhomme and is active as a dramaturge for theater and dance. He lives and works in Paris.
