Roman Dumbadze
Roman Dumbadze ( Georgian რომან დუმბაძე , Russian Роман Нодарович Думбадзе , Roman Nodarowitsch Dumbadze , * 1964 - May 21, 2012 in Moscow ) was a Georgian general .
Roman Dumbadze was a general of the 25th Batumi Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Georgia . After the Adjara crisis in 2003, he turned away from Mikheil Saakashvili and supported Aslan Abashidze in 2004 in the fight against his removal . As a result, Dumbadze was sentenced to 17 years in prison for high treason; In 2008 he was exchanged for Georgian prisoners of war and went into exile in Moscow. In 2010 he received Russian citizenship.
On May 21, 2012, Dumbadze was the victim of a drive-by shoot on Rublev Street in Moscow. The two perpetrators shot Dumbadze from a motorcycle and fatally injured him.
