Roman Metz is a former German soccer player who was active for FC Bayern Munich .

Career

Metz belonged to FC Bayern Munich from 1947 to 1956 , for which he played seven seasons in the Oberliga Süd , 142 points games in the top German division at the time and one in the 2nd Oberliga Süd in FC Bayern Munich - due to the poor performance in the 1954/55 season - was relegated.

In his first season he played six point games and scored one goal. He made his debut on April 25, 1948 (33 matchday) in the 1: 3 defeat in the away game against VfR Mannheim ; he scored his first goal in his fourth league game on May 23, 1948 (37th matchday) in a 2-0 win in the away game against VfB Stuttgart with the goal to make it 1-0 in the 78th minute.

In the following season he played all 30 season games and was successful with 10 goals this season. In the 1949/50 season he scored six goals in 26 league games. In the 1950/51 season he remained in five league games for the first time without scoring. After he had played 15 point games (3 goals) in the 1951/52 season , it was in the following season - now used as a midfielder - 30 of 30 point games (3 goals). In 1953/54 he was used 26 times and scored one goal. In his last league season he came only four times, and in his only second division season only six times.
