Roman Provincial Coinage

Roman Provincial Coinage (RPC) is a coin catalog from the Roman Empire showing the provincial coins of the period 44 BC. To record until 296/7. So far, five out of ten volumes have been published.

The aim of the catalog is to show the Roman provincial coins of the time 44 BC. To record AD 296/7. The material basis is formed by the ten most important coin collections in the world, which are referred to in the project as core collections . The editors are Andrew Burnett from the British Museum and Michel Amandry from the Cabinet des Médailles of the Bibliothèque nationale de France .

The coins are recorded in chronological and geographical order. So far, five out of ten volumes and several addenda have been published. Some addenda have been printed, others have been published online.

A coin database is made available on the project website.
