Romano Alquati (born February 11, 1935 in Clana , Istria , today part of Croatia ; † April 3, 2010 in Turin ) was an Italian Marxist and representative of operaism .

The theoretical discussion of neo-Marxism did not interest him, he sought an empirical basis for political work in the factory through worker studies . His studies on the workers' struggles at Fiat and Olivetti appeared in the first three volumes of the Quaderni Rossi ( Red Booklets ) from 1961 to 1963 and then in the Classe operaia .
