Ron Cyrus

Ronald Ray "Ron" Cyrus (born July 10, 1935 in Greenup County , Kentucky , † February 28, 2006 in Lexington , Kentucky) was an American politician . He was a Democrat in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1976 to 1996 .

Life

Ronald R. Cyrus was born in Greenup County in 1935 to Elden Cyrus, a Pentecostal minister, and his wife Adeline. He attended Russell High School , where he graduated in 1954. From 1976 to 1996 he was a Democrat in the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Cyrus has been married several times and has two sons and three daughters. The country singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus is from his first marriage. His daughter Miley Cyrus is also an actress and singer.

Ronald R. Cyrus died of lung cancer on February 28, 2006 . The song I Miss You on the 2007 double album Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus is dedicated to him.
