Ron Zacapa
Ron Zacapa Centenario is a rum from the Zacapa region in Guatemala , which is produced by Licorera Zacapaneca , founded in 1930 . The brand is now equally owned by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala and the multinational food company Diageo . The rum matures at an altitude of 2300 meters in the mountains, where it is stored in burnt-out bourbon oak barrels. It gets its special flavor from the fact that it is stored in Spanish sherry barrels for a short time. The aroma is reminiscent of chocolate and coffee, the taste is similar to that of cognacs .

The number given does not indicate the real age of the rum. Rather, z. B. the indication "Ron Zacapa 23 años", that rum varieties aged 6 to 23 years were used for the blend; this is known as the Solera principle. To avoid this confusion, "años" is no longer part of the name.
The Ron Zacapa is imported and distributed in Germany by Diageo Deutschland GmbH based in Hamburg, whose parent company is Diageo plc.

- 2006 Gold medal winner at the International Cane Spirits Festival in Florida in the "Premium" category
Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 years:
- 2006 gold medal and awarded as the best rum at the International Cane Spirits Festival in Florida.
- 1998–2002: Gold medal & first place at the International Rum Festival in the "Super Premium" category
In 2003 it was decided at the International Rum Fest to found an "International Hall of Fame", into which Ron Zacapa Centenario was accepted.
Ron Zacapa Centenario XO: 25 years:
- 2003 Platinum Award at the International Rum Fest in Canada in the "Super Premium" category
- 2002 Gold medal at the International Rum Festival in Canada in the "Super Premium" category
- 2001 Gold medal at the International Rum Fest in Barbados in the "Super Premium" category
- 2000 Gold medal at the International Rum Fest in Barbados in the "Super Premium" category
