Ronald Golias

Ronald Golias (born May 4, 1929 in São Carlos , São Paulo , Brazil , † September 27, 2005 in São Paulo, Brazil) was a Brazilian actor and comedian .

Life

Golias came from a humble background. His father, who was a huge fan of British actor Ronald Colman , named him Ronald . Golias initially worked in various professions, including as a tailor , plumber and insurance agent .

Golias' artistic career began at the end of the 1940s in a troupe of artists , the water artists Aqualoucos . Through the mediation of the Brazilian actor and comedian Manuel da Nóbrega , who was convinced of Golias' comedic talent, Golias came to Brazilian radio and television in the 1950s . There he was one of the pioneers of this medium.

He got his first television role in 1956 in the television series A Praça da Alegria , where he convinced Pacífico as an ironic, funny character . Golias then made several films in the 1950s and 1960s . He made his cinema debut in 1957 in the comedy Um Marido Barra Limpa . In 1959 he played in the comedy Os Três Cangaceiros on the side of the Brazilian film comedians Ankito and Grande Otelo .

He gained particular fame on television with the figure of Bronco , whom he played from 1967 to 1971 in the successful Brazilian television series A Família Trapo . In it he played a butler who made the audience laugh with comical, often provocative remarks. In the comedy show A Praça É Nossa from 1990 to 2005 he embodied various roles: Pacífico , Bartolomeu Guimarães , The Master (in this role he often made lewd jokes with sexual innuendos), the female role Isolda , which was about her personal Life with the host of the show, Carlos Alberto de Nóbrega , reports, and Profeta .

From 2004 he was seen in the television series Meu Cunhado on the side of the Brazilian comedian Moacyr Franco . In this television series, Golias successfully resurrected his role as Bronco . Over 20 episodes of the series had not yet aired at the time of Golias' death.

In the last few years of his life, Golias' health had deteriorated. In 2004 a pacemaker was implanted. In May 2004, a blood clot was removed from his brain at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo . In September 2005, Golias was admitted to the São Luiz Hospital after suffering from pneumonia . He died there on September 27, 2005 in the early hours of the morning of multiple organ failure .

He was buried in the Morumbi cemetery in São Paulo.
