Ronda AG , based in Lausen, is an internationally active Swiss manufacturer of movements for wristwatches .
The family company, now in its second generation, was founded in 1946 by William Mosset and initially produced spare parts for various watch movements. In 1952, Ronda began producing watch movements under license for a third-party company. 1961 followed the production of own raw movements and from the 1970s own quartz movements .
Today the company in Switzerland has production sites in Lausen, Stabio and Court as well as three manufacturing plants in Thailand and a subsidiary in Hong Kong . In addition to the actual production of watch movements as a core activity, Ronda also carries out the assembly of watches on a contract basis at the Stabio location . Ronda has a total of over 1,800 employees. The independent family company does not publish business figures.
