Rong Guiqing

Rong Guiqing ( Chinese  戎貴卿  /  戎贵卿 , Pinyin Rong Guiqing ; born May 1958 in the county Weishi , Henan Province ) is a former Chinese major general of the People's Liberation Army . He has been Vice-Commander of the Army of the People's Republic of China since December 2015 , after serving as Chief of Staff of the Chengdu Military Region and Commander of the 54th Group Army .

Career

Rong graduated from the People's Liberation Army National Defense College . He is a member of the Chinese Communist Party .

In July 2008, he was promoted to major general. In 2009 he became the commander of the 54th Group Army in the Jinan Military Region . In December 2014, he was transferred to the Chengdu Military Region , where he replaced Zhou Xiaozhou as chief of staff. A year later he became Vice-Commander of the Army of the People's Republic of China .

He was a member of the 12th National People's Congress .
