Ronnie Browne
Ronnie Browne (born August 20, 1937 in Edinburgh , Lothian, Scotland , actually Ronald Grant ) is a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the Corries .
Career
In 1955, while at Edinburgh College of Art , he formed the group Corrie Folk Trio as guitarist with Roy Williamson and Bill Smith . In 1963 the singer Paddy Bell joined them. After they left the group in 1965 and Smith in 1966, Williamson and Browne continued their work as a duo. After Williamson's death in 1990 he continued his work as a solo musician. Today he mainly appears as the singer of the unofficial Scottish anthem Flower of Scotland at football and rugby matches .
