Ronnie Schöb

Ronnie Schöb (born January 3, 1962 in Oberstdorf ) has been Professor of Economics at the Free University of Berlin since April 1, 2007 , with a focus on labor market policy , tax theory and tax policy , reform of the welfare state , environmental economics and resource economics. Since 2008 he has held a research professorship at the Ifo Institute in Dresden . 2010–2013 he was also dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Free University of Berlin.

Ronnie was Schöb 2002-2007 Chair Professor of Financial Science at the Otto von Guericke - University of Magdeburg . There he worked with his colleague Joachim Weimann in 2002 on the “ Magdeburg Alternative ”, a proposal to lower unemployment while at the same time cutting costs in the federal budget .
