Ronny Vollandt

Ronny Vollandt (born December 11, 1978 in Arnstadt ) is a German Judaist .

Life

In 2007, Vollandt obtained the MA The Transmission of the Jewish-Arabic Pentateuch Translation by Rav Saadiah Gaon into Arabic Characters: A Case of Text Dissemination at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in 2011 the doctorate Christian-Arabic Translations of the Pentateuch from the 9th to 13th centuries: a comparative study of manuscripts and translation techniques at Cambridge University with Geoffrey Khan .

From 2011 to 2012 he was Associate Researcher, Section Hébraïque, Institute for Research and History of Text at the Center national de la recherche scientifique . From 2012 to 2013 he was a fellow for future philology at the Forum Transregional Studies eV in Berlin . From 2013 to 2015 he was Senior Research Associate in the Research Unit Intellectual History of the Islamic World at FU Berlin .

Since 2015 he has been Professor of Jewish Studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
