Rosemarie Bechthum

Rosemarie Bechthum (born January 13, 1943 in Elbing ) is a Thuringian politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Thuringian state parliament .

education and profession

After her parents' flight from Elbing in 1945, Rosemarie Brechthum spent her childhood in Rohr (Thuringia) . In the early 1950s she began an apprenticeship in manufacturing at Simson in Suhl . At the end of the 1950s she went to Weimar to prepare for a teaching degree. She then studied at the Pedagogical Institute Erfurt - today's University of Erfurt - teaching degree for Russian and German, where she taught Russian and German teacher training students at the later University of Education Erfurt-Mühlhausen "Dr. Theodor Neubauer" until the 1990s.

politics

Rosemarie Bechthum has been a member of the SPD since 1990 . In the legislatures of the second and third Thuringian state parliaments (1994-2004) she was a member of the Thuringian state parliament and chairwoman of the equal opportunities committee as well as women and family policy spokeswoman for the SPD state parliamentary group.

Rosemarie Bechthum has been a member of the Erfurt City Council for the SPD parliamentary group since 2004.

Other offices

From 1990 to 1998 Rosemarie Bechthum was a member of the Federal Executive Committee of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (AsF) . From 1990 to 2004 she was state chairwoman in Thuringia.

From 1992 to 1994 she was the equal opportunities officer at the Erfurt-Mühlhausen University of Education.

Others

Rosemarie Bechthum is married to Horst Bechthum , one of the first Social Democrats in Thuringia and holder of the Order of Merit of the Free State of Thuringia .
