Rosemary Joshua
Rosemary Joshua (born October 16, 1964 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh opera singer ( soprano ) and well-known Handel interpreter.
Life
After finishing school in Cardiff, Rosemary Joshua studied at the Royal College of Music in London . In the early 1990s she made her debut in Aix-en-Provence as Angelica in Handel's Orlando . After that, she led engagements at the Scottish Opera , the Royal Opera and other major opera houses in Europe and North America.
One focus of her work is the interpretation of baroque music . So she sang u. a. sacred songs by Henry Purcell and has worked with leading orchestras that strive for historical performance practice , such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin or Les Musiciens du Louvre .
